Membership Application

Please read the following information carefully before filling out the application form

You will need to have 5 years’ experience as a Casting Director ONLY to become a Full member and 2 years’ experience to become a Probationary member. Please note this does not include extras casting or casting research, it is casting only. It does not include modelling agencies, theatrical agents or any other work in the industry.

The CDG welcomes any applications from Casting Directors who are full time residents in the UK and Ireland and doesn’t include the rest of Europe.

You will see from the application form below that you will need to be nominated by 4 Full members of the CDG. Once you’ve filled out your application form, you will be taken to a page to fill out your referees. They will then be contacted automatically asking for a reference. It is very important that all your referees know you very well, ideally you will need to have worked with them. In addition, please make sure you have asked your referees in advance. Once they have completed their reference, you will receive a notification. It is up to you, as the applicant, to chase your referees if you haven’t received notifications from each referee.

Once you have completed the application form, you will be able to update your application, at any stage, using your own unique login details (which you will be able to fill out below).

All applications / references / statements / CVs need to be completed and submitted by Monday 3rd June 2024. After this time no further applications or updates can be accepted until the next application process opens again in 2025.

Your application will then be presented to our current Committee, who will make a decision from there. If you fill all the criteria required by our Statutes in becoming a member of the CDG then your application will be successful and you will be notified over the summer of 2024 for your membership to begin in September 2024.
